The Fox Raceway suffered major damage during the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship finals in the United States in 2010. The racing facility was highly anticipated by San Diego fans, who had waited ten long years for its launch due to the absence of a national race at Carlsbad Speedway since 1982. During the initial two seasons of Pala, Ryan Dungey and Dean Wilson emerged victorious in the 450 and 250 categories, consecutively. Wilson even accomplished the unbeaten record by winning all four motos.
